Core Components
Theory of Knowledge (TOK). A unique interdisciplinary course designed to encourage students to think critically about how we acquire and use knowledge across different disciplines. TOK challenges students to explore the nature of knowledge, its limitations, and its impact on the world.
Extended Essay (EE). A 4,000-word independent research essay that allows students to investigate a topic of personal interest in depth. This essay fosters research, writing, and analytical skills, encouraging students to explore topics in an academic and structured way.
Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS). This component requires students to engage in extracurricular activities that promote creativity, physical activity, and community service. Students are encouraged to step outside the classroom, challenge themselves, and make a positive impact on the community.
Internal and External Assessments
The IB Diploma Programme is evaluated through both internal and external assessments, ensuring a balanced approach to measuring student performance.
Internal Assessments (IA) are conducted by teachers within the school, and they are assessed externally or marked by teachers and moderated by IB.
External Assessments are conducted by the IB Organization and are the formal exams taken at the end of the two-year programme. These assessments are used to measure students' knowledge and understanding of the curriculum in a standardized manner.
These assessment components ensure that students are evaluated in a fair, comprehensive manner and are held to the highest international standards.
