Kindergarten at International Maarif Schools Erbil
At International Maarif Schools Erbil (IMSE), our
kindergarten program proudly follows the International Baccalaureate (IB)
Primary Years Programme (PYP), designed to nurture globally minded, curious,
and empathetic learners. We create a supportive and engaging environment where
play, exploration, and collaboration form the foundation of our teaching.
Our Approach
Transdisciplinary Learning:
We integrate core subjects through Units of Inquiry (UOI),
where children explore meaningful themes such as families, plants, toys, and
community roles. This approach helps them connect knowledge to real-world
contexts, fostering deeper understanding.
Child-Centered Learning:
Every child’s voice, choice, and ownership are at the heart
of our program. We encourage active participation, ensuring students develop
confidence and a lifelong love for learning.
Play-Based, Inquiry-Led Learning
We inspire curiosity and creativity through engaging,
hands-on activities. Storytelling, songs, games, and collaborative projects are
used to introduce concepts like letters, numbers, and problem-solving in ways
that are both fun and effective.
Parent Involvement
Parents play a vital role in our kindergarten program.
Through events like exhibitions, festivals, and workshops, we strengthen the
connection between school and home, creating a strong support system for our
young learners.
By embracing IB learner traits such as being inquirers,
communicators, and caring individuals, our students develop critical thinking,
compassion, and the skills needed to thrive in an ever-changing world.
At International Maarif Schools Erbil, we empower young
learners to explore, reflect, and grow meaningfully, preparing them to become
active contributors to their communities and global citizens for life.
